Job Description
Job Summary (List Format): Sustain Engineer
- Responsible for BAU (Business as Usual) operations and L2/L3 sustain support for the Customer Marketing Data Layer platform
- Monitor data pipelines and marts, perform health checks, and monitor batch jobs
- Track SLAs for scheduled and ad-hoc processes
- Manage and triage incidents using ServiceNow, ensuring adherence to response and resolution SLAs (P1-P4)
- Troubleshoot ETL/data pipelines (SAP BODS, Informatica IICS, Airflow, Snowflake)
- Perform SQL-based root cause analysis and data reconciliation across source and target systems
- Execute and improve runbooks, SOPs, and KEDB (Known Error Database) documentation
- Support and enhance automated monitoring (AWS Lambda, SP mailer, CloudWatch, custom DQ checks)
- Manage change requests, including implementation, verification, and rollback through ServiceNow
- Author RCA (Root Cause Analysis) reports and track permanent fixes as part of problem management
- Maintain and create knowledge management artifacts (Confluence pages, KEDB entries, runbooks)
- Develop automation and self-healing scripts (Python, Shell, PowerShell)
- Participate in rotational 24x7 shifts with US EST overlap and on-call rotation
- Communicate clearly with onshore business stakeholders during incidents and status reviews
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Application/Data/Platform support
- Exposure to Snowflake administration, Airflow DAG debugging, dbt tests
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM)
- Exposure to chaos engineering and chaos testing tools
- Experience with data quality frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda, custom SQL DQ suites)
- Experience in Banking/BFSI domain, especially Customer Marketing data
